The Wild Atlantic Way is 2600km in length and is one of the longest coastal drives in the whole world. It winds all the way along the west coast of Ireland, from the Inishowen Peninsula down to the town of Kinsale, County Cork. A once in a lifetime adventure, the Wild Atlantic Way is stunning from start to finish and unfolds the beauty of nature. Being right on the water, the wild terrain has emerged with towering cliffs, and stunning beaches. With the Atlantic right at your doorstep, there is no better place to be!

Coastal Route

You can join the Wild Atlantic Way at various points along the coast, and complete it in either direction. If you download the Atlantic Discovery App you can get location specific information including areas of interest, walks and activity. It also takes you to the next stop along the route and highlights points to look out for.

What to See

From cliff top views, to scenic hikes, historic cities and picturesque coastal villages, the Wild Atlantic way attracts tourists and locals alike. With some of the best surfing in the world, you wouldn’t want to miss out. There are also walks, cycle routes, famous-world class golf courses, and great places to stay, all within reach.

Kerry and The Wild Atlantic Way

Kerry is actually home to the longest section of the Wild Atlantic Way with 19 Discovery Points, 4 Embarkation Points and 1 Signature Point. County Kerry is truly a worthwhile visit. It has some remote ancient Islands, heritage sites, and exceptional walking trails. It is also characterised by peninsulas which take you to the most westerly point in Ireland.

The Ring of Kerry is the most frequently travelled tourist route on the whole route and goes along the stunning Iveragh Peninsula.
